During National Neighbourhood Watch Week there will be a series of events in Flintshire.  The events are aimed at everyone, promoting 'Be a Good Neighbour', building public confidence and presenting a serious of crime prevention messages through the OWL (Online Watch Link) communication system.

Monday 14th June – Launch of No Cold Calling Area in Broughton in partnership with NWP and Trading Standards.

Reassurance Event for Older People and Good Neighbour Store for purchasing of crime prevention products.

Tuesday 15th June – Broughton Retail Park – an all-day event featuring a range of initiatives for everyone including the Good Neighbour Store.  Also the 50+ Forum in Saltney.

Wednesday 16th June –  Peer Mentoring Day, Deeside – theatre production.  Also the 50+ Forum Development Worker and a presentation of volunteering certificates.

Saltney Pathfinders – ‘Walkabout Saltney’.

Flintshire Community Safety Pathfinders Community Consultation – 'This is what we think' –  Community Survey live on Flintshire County Council website.

Thursday 17th June – Flint Retail Park – all-day event featuring a range of initiatives. Fun for everyone! Including the Good Neighbour Store for purchasing of crime prevention products.

Also North Wales Fire Safety – Home Fire Checks, a Reassurance Event for Older People, and Cornist Pathfinder.

Friday 18th June – ASDA Queensferry – all-day event featuring a range of initiatives for everyone including the Good Neighbour Store.

During the last year, Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch:

-- Was the only case study for Wales in a study of good practice. 
-- Began using the OWL community safety communication alert system.
-- Achieved on behalf of the Flintshire Community Safety Partnership a Pathfinder Status for three pilot areas in Flintshire, Sealand Manor, Saltney and Cornist in Flint.
-- Launched ‘Flintshire’s friendly Dragon‘ Y Draig Melyn.

This week Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch unit will be out and about visiting neighbourhoods and communities.

For everyone that completes a Community Safety Survey on behalf of the Flintshire Community Safety Partnership we shall be rewarding them with:

-- Free new Covert & Overt permanent marking pens to residents who complete the Flintshire Community Safety Partnership questionnaire – people will be able to code bikes, garden equipment, fishing rods, mobile phones and property inside the house, garage and shed.

-- For older people to help protect their bags will shall be providing them with a free ‘purse bell’ to protect them from purse dippers.

-- For children and young people, 'Be an Ace Detective' – complete the quiz and win a Be Safe Be Seen high visibility wrist band.
